Renewable energy deployment in the MENA region: Does innovation matter?
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper contributes to the renewable energy literature from two perspectives. First, we investigate factors driving deployment in MENA countries using economic, financial, and political variables including financial development, government effectiveness stability. investigation is empirically carried out by Panel Smooth Transition Model (PSTR) (Gonzales et al., 2017) that explicitly explores threshold effect within determinants of production. Second, introduce innovation as a new determinant account for mediating role technological achievement SDGs especially SDG7. Using proxies (i.e. ICT percentage internet users), show higher performance likely increase impact governance quality on deployment. Therefore, quality, innovation, stability, development are main drivers The calls sustainable policy options production energy.

Renewable energy deployment to combat energy crisis in Pakistan
The huge deficiency of electricity due to heavy reliance on imported fuels has become a significant impediment to socio-economic development in Pakistan. This scenario creates an increase in local fuel prices and limits potentials in the establishment of new industrial zones. The current gap between the demand and production of electricity in Pakistan is approximately 5000–8000 MW with a consta...
